Hiring Spanish guitarists and flamenco in Dubai: rumba, flamenco shows and Spanish nights, explained
Spanish music covers two very different moods, and the best events use both: the sun-soaked rumba of the Gipsy Kings that gets a terrace singing, and the intensity of a flamenco show with guitar, cante and a bailaora that stops a room. Luminart's founder is a Spanish guitarist who has played the Dubai Opera stage, and the Spanish acts on this page are the musicians and dancers we work with every week. This guide explains the formats, which one suits which event, what every booking includes and what to budget, so you can hire a Spanish guitarist or a flamenco show in Dubai that lives up to the videos.
Spanish formats you can book
- Solo Spanish guitarist. Flamenco and classical guitar, boleros and Spanish pop at conversation volume for ceremonies, arrivals, private dinners and hotel lobbies. The most discreet way to give an event a Spanish accent.
- Gipsy Kings rumba duo. Two singer-guitarists performing the Gipsy Kings repertoire and Catalan rumba, from Bamboléo and Volare to Djobi Djoba. Warm, mobile and the most booked Spanish format for villa parties, brunches and beach clubs.
- Rumba party band. The rumba duo expanded with percussion, bass and a second voice for weddings and large parties that want the Gipsy Kings sound at dance-floor volume, with Spanish and Latin hits added.
- Flamenco trio. Guitarist, singer and one bailaora: the classic tablao format for a dinner or gala, with a 20 to 40 minute show that works in a ballroom, a courtyard or a villa garden.
- Flamenco show with two dancers. Guitarist, singer, percussion and two bailaoras for a fuller stage production with choreographed numbers, ideal for corporate galas, launches and themed Spanish nights.
- Flamenco dancer with playback or DJ. A solo bailaora performing to recorded music or alongside a DJ, the compact option for brand activations, restaurant nights and short interventions.
Which Spanish format for which event
- Villa parties. A rumba duo on the terrace at sunset, sized for the garden and the neighbours, then a DJ set indoors; add a bailaora for a surprise moment. See villa party entertainment.
- Weddings. A solo guitarist for the ceremony and cocktails, a flamenco trio during dinner or as the entrance of the couple, then the rumba party band opens the dance floor. See wedding entertainment.
- Corporate galas and Spanish-themed nights. A flamenco show with two dancers as the centrepiece after the speeches, a rumba duo during the reception and tapas-style styling agreed with your venue. See corporate event entertainment.
- Restaurants, hotels and beach clubs. Weekly Spanish guitar or rumba residencies, and a monthly flamenco night that gives a venue a signature.
- Brand events and launches. A bailaora with guitarist as a short, visual intervention that photographs well and does not compete with the presentation.
- Private dinners and anniversaries. A guitarist or a guitar-and-voice duo playing the songs that matter to you, at a volume that keeps the conversation going.
Repertoire and languages
The rumba repertoire is the Gipsy Kings songbook and Catalan rumba (Peret, Los Manolos, Estopa) plus Spanish and Latin pop hits, sung in Spanish with the choruses everyone knows. The flamenco shows draw on the traditional palos, from alegrías and bulerías to tangos and sevillanas, with guitar solos and cante. Our solo guitarists move between flamenco, classical Spanish pieces (Albéniz, Tárrega, Rodrigo), boleros and instrumental versions of pop songs. Spanish is the language of the music; the artists also speak English and present the show or take requests in English when the guest list calls for it. Tell us the mood of each moment and we build the set list around it, including the songs that matter most to you.
What every Spanish booking includes
- Professional sound with a dedicated operator, sized for the space so a duo sounds warm on a terrace and a flamenco show fills a ballroom, or coordination with the venue's AV team.
- A dance floor or stage for the bailaoras agreed with your venue, because flamenco footwork needs a wooden surface, which we can bring.
- A guaranteed backup musician or dancer for every performer, so illness never becomes your problem.
- A run-of-show agreed in advance: set times, the show slot, speeches and the last song, cued by our stage manager on show and band bookings.
- A fixed, itemised price with a formal agreement and invoice for corporate clients.
Budget guide for Spanish music and flamenco in Dubai
Spanish music is priced by line-up, hours and production rather than by guest count. Every event is quoted individually. Adding a DJ set for the after-party or extending the rumba duo into a band is priced as an add-on. Every proposal is a fixed price with everything itemised, delivered within two hours of your brief.
How to book
- Tell us about the event. Date, venue, guest count, whether you want background guitar, a rumba party or a flamenco show, and the moments you want live. A WhatsApp message is enough.
- Receive a shortlist. Within two hours: two or three Spanish line-ups with recent live videos, a fixed price and a suggested running order.
- Confirm. A 30% deposit secures the date; companies receive a formal agreement and invoice.
- Prepare. We agree the repertoire, your special songs, the show slot and the dance floor with your venue or planner.
- Enjoy the night. Our team arrives early, sound-checks quietly and follows the agreed programme.
Frequently asked questions about Spanish music and flamenco in Dubai
How much does it cost to hire a Spanish guitarist or a flamenco show in Dubai?
Every event is quoted individually, based on the line-up, the hours and the production. Every proposal is a fixed, itemised price delivered within two hours.
What is the difference between a rumba duo and a flamenco show?
The rumba duo is two singer-guitarists playing the Gipsy Kings and Catalan rumba repertoire, a festive act that gets guests singing and dancing. A flamenco show is a staged performance with guitar, cante and one or two bailaoras, a 20 to 40 minute centrepiece that guests watch.
Which flamenco formats are available?
Several: guitarist, singer and one bailaora; guitarist, singer, percussion and two bailaoras; a solo bailaora with guitarist or with playback; and a solo flamenco guitarist. We recommend the format based on the room, the audience and the slot in your programme.
Do the artists sing in Spanish or English?
Spanish is the language of the music, so the rumba and flamenco repertoire is sung in Spanish. The artists also speak English, present the show in English and can add English-language pop favourites when the guest list calls for them.
Does a flamenco show need a special stage?
The bailaoras need a wooden surface for the footwork, so we agree a small stage or dance floor with your venue, or bring a portable flamenco floor as part of the proposal.
How far in advance should we book Spanish music?
Two to four weeks is comfortable for most dates. December, National Day week and the October to April wedding and brunch season fill early, so for a full flamenco show in those periods we recommend a month or more. Last-minute bookings are always possible, subject to availability: the most sought-after artists are booked first, which is the risk of leaving it late, but there is always the option of finding the best available performer for your date.
