How to hire a musician, band or performer in Dubai

Hiring live entertainment in Dubai is easy to do badly: a great singer with the wrong sound system, a band that fits the brief but not the room, a performer booked through three intermediaries who each take a margin and none of whom turns up on the night. This guide explains how Luminart works when you hire an artist through us: who is on the roster, which format suits which event, what it costs, how the booking runs and what is guaranteed.

Who is on the Luminart roster

Luminart represents 41 hand-picked acts based in Dubai: 16 singers, 7 duos, 10 bands and 8 solo and specialty performers. Every one of them has been seen live by our founder, a musician and producer who has been performing and producing events in Dubai since 2008, has played the Dubai Opera and holds a UAE Golden Visa for talent. You can browse the full roster with photos, videos and repertoires in the artist catalog on this page, and we shortlist the right three for your event within two hours.

  • Solo artists. Singers with backing tracks, pianists, guitarists, saxophonists and violinists. The right choice for cocktail hours, restaurant residencies and intimate dinners.
  • Duos. Voice and guitar or voice and piano. Elegant, flexible and the most booked format for villa parties and small weddings.
  • Jazz bands and trios. Standards, swing and soul for hotels, galas and dinners where the music should never overpower the conversation.
  • Pop and covers bands. Four to six musicians with a lead singer and a set list from the 70s to today for parties that need a dance floor.
  • Latin bands. Salsa, bachata, bossa nova and Latin pop performed by musicians who grew up with it.
  • Spanish guitar and flamenco. A guitarist for the terrace or a full flamenco showcase with dancer and singer.
  • Arabic bands. Oud, vocals and percussion for Eid, National Day, Arabic weddings and hotel lobbies.
  • Italian music. Neapolitan classics and modern Italian pop for dinners with a Mediterranean mood.
  • Dance shows. Flamenco, tango, samba and contemporary showcases that give an event a centrepiece.
  • Magic shows. Close-up magic between courses or a stage act for galas and product launches.
  • DJ with live sax and percussion. The modern party formula: a DJ reading the room plus live instruments on top.
  • Wedding and party bands. Line-ups built for a full day, from ceremony entrance to last dance.

Which format for which event

  • Villa and private parties. A duo for 15 to 40 guests, a trio for 20 to 60, a full band for 25 to 70. Sound is sized for a garden or terrace, and community noise rules are part of the plan. See villa party entertainment.
  • Weddings. A duo or solo for the ceremony and cocktails, a trio with singer for dinner and a band plus DJ for the party. Your entrance and first dance arranged live. See wedding entertainment.
  • Corporate events. Jazz and solo artists for networking, dance shows and magicians for galas, international bands for global audiences, all with contracts and invoicing. See corporate event entertainment.
  • Hotels, restaurants and venues. Residencies and rotating programmes with consistent quality and a single supplier, rather than a different act every week.
  • Concerts and festivals. Original music and full-production shows on stages across the UAE, from Sikka to the Dubai Opera.

Five things to check before you hire a musician in Dubai

  1. Watch a recent live video, not a studio recording. Every Luminart proposal includes video of the act performing at a real event in the last months.
  2. Ask who brings the sound. A singer without a sound system and an operator is half a booking. Our packages include professional sound with a dedicated operator, sized for your space.
  3. Ask what happens if the artist is ill. We guarantee a backup artist of the same calibre for every performer, so your event never depends on one person.
  4. Ask who is in charge on the night. For trio and band bookings a stage manager coordinates artists, sound and timing with your venue or planner.
  5. Get one fixed price in writing. No hourly surprises: our proposals itemise performers, hours, sound and add-ons, with a 50% deposit to confirm.

What it costs to hire a musician or band in Dubai

Live entertainment in Dubai is priced by line-up, hours and production, not by guest count. Every event is quoted individually. Dance shows, magicians and DJ-plus-sax sets are quoted as single moments within an event. Every proposal is a fixed, itemised price and arrives within two hours of your brief.

How the booking works

  1. Tell us about the event. Date, venue, guest count, the mood you want and any songs that matter. A WhatsApp message is enough.
  2. Receive a shortlist. Within two hours: two or three acts with videos, a fixed price and a suggested running order.
  3. Confirm. A 50% deposit locks the date; the balance is due before the event. Companies receive a formal agreement and an invoice.
  4. Prepare. We agree the repertoire, timings and technical details with you, your venue or your planner.
  5. Perform. Our team arrives early, sound-checks quietly and follows the agreed run-of-show. You host; we handle the rest.

What is always included

  • Professional sound with a dedicated operator, or coordination with your venue's AV team.
  • A guaranteed backup artist for every performer.
  • Repertoire tailored to your event and your favourite songs rehearsed in advance.
  • One point of contact from the first message to the last song, even when you book several acts.
  • A written proposal with a fixed price, and an indoor backup plan for outdoor performances at no extra cost.

Why hire through a producer rather than a booking agent

A booking agent sends you a name and a fee. A producer takes responsibility for the whole performance: the right act for the room, the sound, the timing and the person accountable on the night. Luminart is led by a working musician, which is why our artists are briefed like colleagues rather than sold like inventory. More than 300 events performed, a 5.0 rating on Google, a founder featured on Dubai federal television for his Dubai Opera concert, and clients who range from international brands to private families across Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

Frequently asked questions about hiring artists in Dubai

How much does it cost to hire a live band in Dubai?

Every event is quoted individually, based on the line-up, the hours and the production. Every Luminart proposal is a fixed, itemised price delivered within two hours.

How far in advance should I book a musician?

Two to four weeks is comfortable for most acts. December, National Day week and the October to April wedding season fill early, so for full bands and shows in those periods we recommend a month or more. Last-minute bookings are always possible, subject to availability: the most sought-after artists are booked first, which is the risk of leaving it late, but there is always the option of finding the best available performer for your date.

Do you provide the sound system?

Yes. Every package includes professional sound with a dedicated operator sized for your space, or we coordinate with the venue's AV company if the set-up is already in place.

Can I see the artists before booking?

Yes. Browse the full roster with photos and videos in the artist catalog on this page, and every proposal includes recent live video of the acts we recommend.

Can I book more than one act for the same event?

Yes. A duo for arrival, a magician between courses and a band with DJ for the party is a typical combination, all under one contract and one point of contact.

Do you perform outside Dubai?

Yes. We perform regularly in Abu Dhabi and across the UAE, and travel outside Dubai appears as a separate line in the proposal.

What happens if the artist cannot perform?

Every performer has a guaranteed backup artist of the same calibre on call, so your event goes ahead as planned.

Do you work with hotels and venues on a recurring basis?

Yes. We build residency programmes and rotating line-ups for hotels, restaurants and members' clubs that want consistent quality from one supplier.
