Wedding entertainment in Dubai, explained

Wedding violinist walking down a floral aisle at an outdoor wedding in Dubai

A wedding has more musical moments than any other event: the entrance, the vows, the first cocktail, the dinner, the first dance and the party. Each one needs the right sound at the right volume at exactly the right time, and most of them happen while the couple is busy being the couple. This guide explains how Luminart produces wedding entertainment across Dubai and Abu Dhabi: the moments we cover, the formats that work in each venue, what every package includes, how the day runs and what to budget.

The moments of a wedding day, and what we play for each

Live acoustic music during an outdoor wedding ceremonyQanun and oud duo performing at a wedding reception in DubaiFirst dance with live music at a wedding
  1. Guest arrival and pre-ceremony. A solo pianist, a Spanish guitarist or an acoustic duo sets the tone while guests find their seats. Twenty to thirty minutes, unhurried.
  2. The ceremony entrance. Your song, arranged live for the line-up you have chosen and timed to the walk. This is included in every Luminart package.
  3. Signing and exit. A bright, joyful piece as you walk back down the aisle together.
  4. Cocktail hour. Jazz, bossa nova or acoustic covers at a volume that lets people congratulate you and each other.
  5. Dinner. Elegant and unobtrusive: a trio with a singer, soft standards and your favourite songs woven in. Speeches are cued with the band so nobody has to shout over music.
  6. First dance. Arranged live for your musicians, rehearsed in advance, cued by the stage manager so it lands exactly when you want it to.
  7. The party. A full band builds the floor, and a DJ with live saxophone and percussion keeps it full until the last song, at the time you agreed with the venue.

Where we produce weddings in Dubai and Abu Dhabi

Outdoor wedding ceremony by the sea with palm trees
  • Beach hotels on Palm Jumeirah and Jumeirah Beach. Ceremony on the sand, cocktails at sunset, reception in the ballroom. We split the line-up across the three spaces and coordinate with the hotel's banqueting and AV teams.
  • Private villas. Garden ceremonies and terrace receptions in Emirates Hills, Al Barari, Jumeirah and Dubai Hills, with sound sized for the space and neighbours in mind. See our villa party production for how we handle private homes.
  • Desert and outdoor venues. Dramatic settings that need self-sufficient production: our crew brings power-aware sound and an indoor or tented backup plan is always included.
  • Downtown and DIFC hotels. City-view ballrooms with strict sound protocols. We agree levels with the venue in advance and work within their AV set-up.
  • Abu Dhabi: Saadiyat, Yas Island and the Corniche. The same team, the same guarantees, with travel itemised in your proposal.
  • Destination guests. Many of our couples marry in Dubai with families flying in from Europe, Asia, the Levant and Latin America. Our multilingual roster means every table hears something that feels like home.

Choose your sound: formats that work at a wedding

Elegant wedding trio with saxophone, singer and guitar in Dubai
  • Acoustic duo. Voice and guitar or voice and piano for ceremonies, cocktails and intimate dinners. The heart of our Wedding Duo Session.
  • Trio with singer. The most versatile format: refined during dinner, uplifting for the first dance, and able to turn up the energy when the tables clear.
  • Full wedding band with DJ set. Five to six musicians plus a party DJ for the full day. Our Wedding Band Deluxe. See also our pop and party bands.
  • Jazz and bossa nova. Timeless for cocktails and dinner, especially in hotel and garden settings.
  • Spanish guitar and Italian classics. Romantic, warm and perfect for Mediterranean-style ceremonies and dinners.
  • Latin band. Salsa, bachata and Latin pop to fill a dance floor fast, a favourite with international families.
  • Arabic live music. Oud, vocals and percussion for Arabic and mixed weddings, performed with respect for the tradition.
  • DJ with live sax and percussion. The modern after-party formula, available as an add-on to any package. For a solo violinist or saxophonist, see our solo artists.
  • Dance show or close-up magic. A short showcase between courses that gives guests a moment to talk about.

Every performer comes from the Luminart roster of 41 hand-picked singers, duos, bands and specialty acts. Browse them in our artist catalog and we will build the line-up around your favourites.

What every wedding package includes

Wedding reception dinner at a villa with palm trees at night
  • Your ceremony entrance and first dance arranged live for the musicians you choose, rehearsed before the day.
  • Professional sound with a dedicated operator, sized for each space you use, or coordinated with the venue's AV team.
  • A guaranteed backup artist for every performer, so your wedding never depends on one person's health.
  • A run-of-show agreed in advance with your planner and venue: timings, speeches, cues and the last song.
  • An indoor backup plan for outdoor ceremonies at no extra cost.
  • One coordinator working alongside your planner from the first message to the last dance. Trio Premium and Band Deluxe include an on-site stage manager.

Wedding entertainment budget guide

Wedding entertainment is quoted individually, so the proposal fits the moments you want live. As a guide to what couples book: an acoustic duo for the ceremony and cocktail hour; a trio with singer and a stage manager from the ceremony to dinner, with personal song requests arranged live; or the full wedding day with a five to six piece band, a party DJ set and production-grade sound and light with a dedicated crew and a technical site visit. Add-ons such as a custom first-dance arrangement, DJ with sax and percussion, an MC, lighting design, a videographer or extra hours are built into the same proposal. Catering, décor and venue rental are not part of our service: your wedding planner or the suppliers you choose handle them, and we coordinate timings, power and stage space with them. You receive a fixed, itemised proposal within two hours, and a 50% deposit secures your date.

How the booking runs

  1. Tell us about your wedding. Date, venue, guest count and the moments you want live. A voice note or a WhatsApp message is enough to start.
  2. Receive your proposal. A fixed package and price within two hours, with videos of recent weddings we have produced.
  3. Confirm your date. A 50% deposit locks it in. We then meet your planner and the venue's technical team.
  4. Prepare the music. We arrange your entrance and first dance, agree the dinner repertoire and confirm the run-of-show.
  5. Enjoy every moment. We handle set-up, sound checks and the pacing of the day, and your stage manager cues each moment so you simply live it.

Timing, seasons and practicalities

Dubai's wedding season runs from October to April, when outdoor ceremonies are at their best; November, February and March fill up first, so we recommend booking two to three months ahead and earlier for a full band. From May to September we produce indoor and evening weddings with the same care, and outdoor ceremonies always carry an indoor backup. If your ceremony and reception are in different places, the line-up can split: an acoustic duo at the ceremony venue while the band sets up at the reception, so there is no gap in the music. The deposit is non-refundable, cancellations between 7 and 14 days before the wedding are charged at 75% of the total and within 7 days at the full fee, and weather-related postponements are always free, with the deposit moving to the new date.

Why couples book a producer rather than just a band

Wedding guests dancing to a live band

A band plays songs. A producer designs the soundtrack of your day: which format for which moment, how the music moves between spaces, who cues the first dance and what happens if the ceremony runs twenty minutes late. Luminart is led by a musician and producer who has been performing and producing events in Dubai since 2008, with more than 300 events performed and a 5.0 rating on Google. Our couples get one supplier, one coordinator and a wedding where the music simply happens, beautifully, at every moment.

Marriage proposals, serenades and artistic surprises

Before the wedding there is the question, and it is usually asked in about three minutes: one song, one silence and a lot of nerves. We produce the music for that moment. A violinist who appears behind you as the light goes down over the Palm. A saxophone that starts playing from the next table in a restaurant, as if it had nothing to do with you. A Spanish guitar on a terrace in Al Barari. A singer who walks in with the song from the first night you met. The proposal is yours; what we take care of is that the music arrives at the exact second it has to arrive, and that nobody sees the musician until then.

In practice it works like this. We agree the song, the exact cue and the way the artist appears — from behind, through a service door, out of the group of friends — and we rehearse that timing with whoever is on the inside: the restaurant manager, the photographer, the friend who is filming. Our artists arrive early, dress for the venue and stay out of sight until the cue. Most proposals need one artist; two make sense when the moment has a before and an after, for example a solo violin for the question and a duo afterwards, while the champagne arrives and the first phone calls start.

A serenade is the other half of this line of work, and it does not need a ring to justify it: an anniversary under a window, a birthday in a villa garden, a welcome at the airport, an apology that is better sung than typed. Our Latin artists sing mostly in Spanish, which is what a bolero, a ranchera or a rumba asks for. Our Italian repertoire covers the songs everybody's parents know. In Arabic we work with oud players and singers for a serenade in the language a family actually feels. If the person receiving the surprise speaks a different language from the person organising it, tell us at the start — that is usually the whole point.

Artistic surprises are everything else that turns a private dinner into something people retell for years. A musician planted as a waiter who suddenly starts to sing. A close-up magician who works the table before dessert and finishes the routine with the ring in his hand — he performs in English, Spanish and Russian. A flamenco entrance that takes over a terrace for four minutes and then disappears. A pianist who plays your song while the family thinks they are listening to background music. We choose the act with you, because a surprise that does not fit the person receiving it is just noise in an expensive restaurant.

What we do not do is better said upfront: we do not build the set-up. Flowers, candles, the letters on the sand, the arch on the beach, the photographer and the restaurant booking are yours, your proposal planner's or the venue's. We work alongside any of them without friction — we agree the cue, the access and the sound with whoever is running the surprise — but the part we sign for is the artist, the sound when the place needs it, and one person on site making sure the music starts on the right second.

We produce these across Dubai and Abu Dhabi: restaurants and rooftops, private villas and their gardens, yachts and beach clubs, hotel suites and terraces, and desert camps, where we bring a silent generator and dust-proof equipment. Some venues need permission for live music and a couple of them do not allow it at all, so tell us the place before you promise yourself anything — we check it the same day and, if the answer is no, we say so and suggest the venue next door.

On timing, a week is comfortable for a proposal or a serenade with one artist: enough to confirm the musician, clear the venue and rehearse the entrance. Two to three weeks is better for a full surprise with several acts or for a date in high season. Last-minute is always possible, subject to availability: the most sought-after artists go first, which is the risk of leaving it late, but there is always the option of finding the best available performer for your date. Every proposal is quoted individually, on request, as a fixed and itemised price before anything is confirmed.

And if the answer is yes, the next thing to plan is usually the party: see engagement party entertainment, the full wedding entertainment guide, or a villa party at home to celebrate with everyone at once.

More questions about wedding entertainment in Dubai

What if an artist becomes unavailable?

We tell you the moment we know, and we replace the artist with a performer of the same level at the same fee, with a video of them performing so you can approve the replacement before the day. It is written into the agreement, not a favour, so you are never left choosing between a stranger and an empty stage. It is also why we work with a roster of artists rather than a single band.

Can you play at a marriage proposal?

Yes, and it is one of the things we are asked for most. One artist is usually enough — a violin, a saxophone, a Spanish guitar or a singer — and we agree the song, the exact cue and the way the musician appears, then rehearse the timing with the restaurant, the photographer or whoever else is in on the surprise. The artist stays out of sight until the moment. Every proposal is quoted individually, on request.

Do you organise the whole proposal, or only the music?

Only the music, and we prefer to say so upfront. The flowers, the candles, the set-up on the beach, the photographer and the restaurant booking are yours, your proposal planner's or the venue's. We work alongside any of them without friction: we agree the cue, the access and the sound, we bring the artist and the equipment the place needs, and one of our people is on site so the music starts on the right second.

Can we send a serenade to someone in Dubai?

Yes, and it does not have to be a proposal: an anniversary, a birthday in a villa garden, a welcome at the airport or an apology that is better sung than typed. Our Latin artists sing mostly in Spanish, our Italian repertoire covers the classics, and in Arabic we work with oud players and singers. Tell us which language the person receiving it speaks, because that is usually what makes the surprise land. A week is comfortable, and last-minute is possible subject to availability.

How much does wedding entertainment cost in Dubai?

Every event is quoted individually, based on the line-up, the hours and the production. Add-ons are priced per event and every proposal is itemised. Tell us the date, the venue and the number of guests and you will receive a fixed, itemised proposal within two hours.

Can you play at both the ceremony and the reception?

Yes. Trio Premium covers ceremony to dinner and Band Deluxe covers the full day. If the venues are different, we split the line-up so the music never stops.

Do you work with our wedding planner and the venue?

Yes. We coordinate the schedule, sound and technical set-up directly with your planner and the venue's team, and our stage manager works alongside them on the day.

Can you arrange our special songs live?

Yes. Your ceremony entrance and first dance are arranged live for your musicians in every package, and Trio Premium includes up to three additional personal requests.

Do you perform Arabic, Latin or other international repertoire?

Yes. Our roster includes Arabic, Latin, Spanish, Italian, jazz and pop specialists, so a mixed or international wedding can hear every tradition performed properly.

What if it is too hot or it rains?

Every outdoor ceremony includes an indoor backup plan at no extra cost, agreed with the venue in advance.

How far in advance should we book?

Two to three months for most dates, and earlier for a full band between November and March. Last-minute bookings are always possible, subject to availability: the most sought-after artists are booked first, which is the risk of leaving it late, but there is always the option of finding the best available performer for your date.
